Have a Special Place to Practice
|If it is possible, have a location set aside for practicing your violin. Just the fact that there is a place where you always go to practice
. . . where all of your things are already there so you don't have to look for them . . . where all other things are always set aside so you can work well, makes a big difference.
It doesn't have to be a studio or even an entire room. It can even be just one specific place in a bedroom or living room . . . just so that it is always the same.
Decorate it! Hang a picture, a poster or some music art! It doesn't even have to cost much. Hang a piece of sheet music you enjoy! Do you have any autographs of violinists? Those can be really inspirational. What about CD cover art? Or if you're more talented at painting or drawing than I am, you can draw or paint your own! Make it special! Make it a fun place to go! Make the place sing!
