It's time to start choosing some music you would like to play for Christmas or Hanukkah.
I'm not talking about a CD, I mean something YOU CAN PLAY. Something fun. Something a little challenging! Violin and fiddle music is great around the holidays! Start practicing NOW and you'll be so good at it when the Holidays arrive it'll be easy. You'll really impress folks!
Just think how you'll feel when folks compliment your playing. And you'll make them feel good too!
Many churches have some sort of Christmas program. They are always glad to have a solo violin or string ensemble to enhance the service. That's another chance to play your violin during the holidays! Pick some music that will work with the service and get some friends together. For several years I played with a string quintet (4 violins and a cello) that played for my church's Christmas service. We took 75% of our music directly from our hymnal!
Even if it's not for church, fiddlin', carols, popcorn, hot cider (or cocoa), and good friends is a great way to spend a Fall or Winter evening! |
