Tomorrow is the Fourth of July! It's a holiday in the United States, where I live.
On holidays I still like to play violin, but I give myself a treat. Instead of doing my usual practice, I play pieces that I especially like. That way it does not seem so much like work or learning, but it is a game.
The other way to make playing the violin fun on a holiday is to play music that celebrates that holiday. On the Fourth of July I may play songs like Yankee Doodle. On Christmas I play Christmas Carols.
Even if I need to practice something special, I still end holiday practices with something I have fun with! Remember, playing violin should be fun! |
