|The name Duo46 has a double significance. One is that the human body has 46 chromosomes. That is too complicated for the likes of me. The second is far simpler, and easier to guess. Can You Guess the other significance of the name of violin-guitar ensemble Duo46?
Look at the Bottom of the Page for the Answer.
|Violins have 4 strings. Guitars have 6. A duo indicates two people. So two people playing a violin and a guitar would logically be Duo46.|
|In addition to performing and recording, Duo46 has a keen interest in education and research. They have been a visiting ensemble at Harvard University, University of Florida in Gainesville, University of Minnesota in Duluth, University of Nebraska in Kearney, Wellesley College in Massachusetts, and in February 2006, University of California at Berkeley. The provide performances, workshops and master-classes on a wide variety of topics such as composing for guitar or developing career strategies.
It is not often that I am able to find a link by which you can actually hear an artist play. The Kennedy Center hosted a concert by Duo46. That performance is available through their site. Click This Link to View a Performance by Duo46 from the Kennedy Center web site,
